Courses
We started out with the premise that we will not just teach software commands but will teach the students to think as animation professionals and become creators of animation. Our courseware, specifically designed for this purpose, provided a comprehensive reference. To get this courseware in place, we got a group of practicing animation professionals, with many years of studio experience under their belts, to share their thoughts and ideas. Some of them worked closely with Ram Mohan on this. We studied the way the animation training is currently taking place and the type of on-the-job training that was needed to make people productive in a studio environment even after the standard training they received. We looked at what most of the students from the institutes came with and also what they didn't have and the studios had to make up for them. All these details helped us design the courseware.

The team that put the courseware together worked closely with Ram Mohan and absorbed the context and the content first. They captured the thoughts into a course definition document. This document was then used to create the exercises and class delivery material. Relevant assignments and class work were also identified and linked to specific stages of the course. Some thought went into what the students should learn in the class room and what they should acquire through practice, which correlated with the lab work. The entire material was then compiled into courseware. The courseware is designed to provide for standardization of the faculty student interaction at session level. Individual faculty member would have the flexibility to innovate within this framework in each session to ensure learning by the entire class. The learning objectives are defined at every level and provide the benchmark for the pace and the detailing needs. The individual faculty member discusses these issues with other faculty and arrives at specific plans for the class. We brought together a group of people with experience in animation training and who shared our vision on the animation education process. The courseware was refined with their participation, both in terms of content and the structure for class work and lab work. They used the courseware to then break up individual sessions and the labwork the students are expected to do during the course.

We offer range of courses in animation for people who want to make careers in animation and also offer courses for professionals who are already working in industry. Our courseware is designed by practicing professionals in industry and training methodologies are been tried and tested in animation studios. The courses focus on developing specialized course skills that can be used in the animation industry. The course is designed not only to teach tools of animation but also the related fundamental concepts and skills like film making, acting, clay modeling etc.
