Our association with UNICEF has been deep and long. Ram Mohan created the animated character “Meena” an eight-year old girl. She is the face of UNICEF’s campaign on girl children and associated grassroots community concerns of health, education and social awareness. Over the last two decades, a series of animated films have been made for educating people across India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. With the success of the Girl Child campaign, Educational Short Films were also developed on other topics like Breast feeding, Personal Hygiene and Aids Awareness. We also developed films on issues like Adult Reproductive Health, the psycho-social Impact of Tsunami etc.
UNICEF - Meena: Meena’s success prompted UNICEF to use her in other mediums such as Comic books, posters, banners and hoardings. Numerous mass media campaigns have been developed on various educational and social concepts issues like pure drinking water, personal hygiene, equal opportunities for girls, girls' education, Child Marriage, etc. Today Meena Clubs are run in primary schools across the villages in ,India and Bangladesh. These clubs provide children access to educational aids such as films, comics, posters and banners to spread the message of community consciousness.
Ministry of Education-Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan
“We created an Advertising campaign for the Government of India on the concept of education for all (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan). The mass media campaign involved producing TV commercials, radio spots, poster banners and hoarding in five different languages.”
We were approached by JHU to create two teenage characters that would be the face of their Aids awareness campaign based on Abstinence, Being faithful and practising safe sex by using Condoms. We created Amar and Tara the teenage boy and girl. They are now the mascot of the campaign and have already been featured in Aids educational comics and games.
